Much like heart or stroke patients who has specific protocols for rehabilitation, research is showing the benefits of physical therapy for cancer patients to help lessen the effects of cancer treatment. In fact, cancer patients who had high activity levels prior to their diagnosis and maintained a reduced level of exercise during their treatment have been shown to tolerate their treatments with fewer or minimized side effects.
