Why Preventing Falls Matters
Falls, with or without injury, also carry a heavy quality of life impact. A growing number of older adults fear falling and, as a result, limit their activities and social engagements. This can result in further physical decline, depression, social isolation, and feelings of helplessness.
Our Commitment to Elderly Fall Prevention
“At Progressive Physical Therapy we strongly believe that movement and function are key to maintaining an active lifestyle as you age,” said Michael McKindley, DPT. “Physical therapy can help address weaknesses and provide a road map to set up a simple home exercise program to increase strength, conditioning, and flexibility. Having proper fitting shoes, that meet the needs of each individual, is part of our education process with our patients to help keep them active and avoid foot and ankle problems. That is why, we are excited to partner with Road Runner Sports on this community awareness campaign for Elderly Fall Prevention.”
